Block Prints
Block (or relief) printing is a process that involves carving into linoleum, wood, foam, or another carving material and printing an impression of the carved surface onto paper, textiles, and more. I picked up my block printing skills in college, originally just taking the class out of curiosity. In the end, I discovered I really enjoyed the process of carving the image and then printing it by hand. I originally started with very large pieces - 18"x24"- but I simply don't have the space required to keep printing things that large. For the older prints, I've since scanned them in and now reproduce the images as regular art prints to be sold at events. For my smaller pieces, I can still keep producing original art prints to be sold. |
Mixed Media
Sometimes I get an unusual idea in mind and I have to run with it. I've been creating these papercraft mixed media pieces lately with the Halloween spirit in mind. Something simple and unique that are much more cost effective than my regular papercraft commissions.
Paintings
I've been doing more paintings lately. Unfortunately I often forget to photograph the pieces properly before selling them at shows.
As always, I'm inspired by the things I love. Halloween, my cat, and my favorite games are the usual muses.
Some are acrylic paintings while others may be watercolor. A few are a combo of pyrography and watercolor.
I'm a fan of glow-in-the-dark and UV reactive details, so occasionally that will come into play.
